Clean jewelry: Salt can be used to clean silver and gold jewelry. Just mix a tablespoon of salt with a cup of warm water and soak jewelry for about 15 minutes. 

Remove stains: Salt can be used to remove a variety of stains, such as rust, ink, and blood from cloths.

Heal canker sores: Salt can help to dry out canker sores and relieve pain. Just mix a teaspoon of salt with a cup of warm water and gargle with the solution for about 30 seconds.

Kill weeds: Just sprinkle salt on the weeds and they will eventually die. However, be careful not to use too much salt, as it can also kill plants you want to keep.

Extend the life of flowers: Salt can help to extend the life of flowers by absorbing excess water. Just add a teaspoon of salt to the vase of water with the flowers.
